The audio files from the Great Commission Resurgence Task Force’s 10 months of work in 2009 and 2010 were sealed for 15 years, the agreed-upon time by the group. The collection is housed in the Southern Baptist Historical Library and Archives and consists of 57 compact discs and very few paper documents.
This year’s WMU celebration at the Omni Dallas Hotel June 8 featured the theme “Let the Nations Be Glad,” based on Psalm 67:4: “May the nations be glad and sing for joy, for you rule the people with equity and guide the nations of the earth.”

Capt. Sanford M. Brown Jr. was a member of the 139th Infantry, 35th Division primarily composed of men from Missouri. His father, Sanford M. Brown Sr., was co-owner and editor of Missouri’s Baptist newspaper, The Word & Way, in the 1920s.
