In his introduction of Rankin, SWBTS President David S. Dockery expressed delight to have the alumnus back to preach on campus. Rankin suffered a minor stroke in July but was able to keep his scheduled visit.
Like most of the surrounding area, First Baptist Church Madison, Florida, was without electricity for a few days in the wake of Hurricane Idalia, but it didn’t stop its members from preparing and serving hundreds of meals each day.
“For me, basketball is only a platform that God has given me to pour into the lives of young people,” said Steve Edwards, women’s basketball coach at Brewton-Parker College.
