An attorney was killed, four nuns were abducted and a university student may be forced to marry as unabated persecution of Christians continues in Nigeria.
Muslim Fulani herdsmen are suspected of killing Benedict Azza at his home in Zamfara State on Aug. 18, Morning Star News reported. He was director of the legal department of the Zamfara State Chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria.
On Aug. 21 in Imo state, four Roman Catholic nuns were abducted, possibly by terrorists and herdsmen working together.
On Aug. 19, a top commander in the Islamic State West Africa Province terrorist group reportedly said he will force Azurfa Lois John to marry him, Morning Star reported. John, a 21-year-old college student, and 60 other passengers were kidnapped March 28 from a train ISWAP bombed.
In Kaduna State, terrorists killed an 86-year-old Christian in his home Aug. 2 and kidnapped 21 women and six males June 21.
Nigeria led the world in the number of Christians killed or kidnapped in 2021 and is No. 7 on Open Doors’ 2022 World Watch List of places most difficult to be a Christian.
