Arkansas hiker to raise support, awareness for children in foster care

A Baptist campus minister at the University of Arkansas in Monticello is using his passion for hiking and the outdoors to help with a worthy mission — to keep adoptions free for more waiting families.

This Nov. 4–19, Jeremy Woodall will hike just over 200 miles along the Ozark Highlands Trail from Lake Fort Smith to the Buffalo National River in an effort to raise funds and awareness for children in foster care. All proceeds raised during Woodall’s hiking challenge will go directly toward Connected Adoptions, a division of the Arkansas Baptist Children & Family Ministries (ABCFM).

This isn’t the first hiking challenge that Woodall has conquered. In 2020, he hiked the 223-mile Ouachita National Hiking Trail for the same cause.

Greater challenges ahead

This hike is expected to present greater challenges for Woodall than the challenge in 2020, but he remains passionate about supporting the mission, ABCFM reported.
