Hispanic leadership training in New Mexico draws 105 pastors, church leaders

Two Hispanic leadership workshops in New Mexico recently provided training for 105 pastors and church leaders.

The people groups team with the Baptist Convention of New Mexico organized the events that drew leaders from 15 BCNM Hispanic churches, with 75 at an event in Roswell — and another 20 in Las Cruces.

Mario Navarro, BCNM southern New Mexico Hispanic strategist, taught sessions in both locations, noting attendees called the training “overwhelming.” “They loved it and learned a lot,” he said.

More events to come

The New Mexico convention offered training for pastors, church leaders and others, and because of its success the people groups team is planning more events.

In Roswell, Gerardo Franco of Iglesia Bautista Emanuel Lovington, led a session titled, “The Heart of the Leader;” Carlos Ron of Iglesia Bautista Celebración Cristiana Hobbs led “The Characteristics of a Leader;” and Navarro spoke about “The Reality of Leadership.”

In Las Cruces, Saúl Uribe of Iglesia Bautista Buenas Nuevas Las Cruces taught “Effective Leadership,” while Navarro spoke of “The Realities of Leadership.”

A similar workshop was held in Albuquerque.
