More and more churches are seeing first responder rooms as an opportunity to show love to their community.
Biltmore Church in Arden, North Carolina, is one that tried it and saw it used in a way that made them want to open another at their East Asheville campus. The church will celebrate the new space Aug. 9 with an open house, offering breakfast, inflatables and activities for first responders and their families.
The first responder room “is a 24/7 space created just for the heroes who serve our community, whether they need a quiet spot to rest, a place to meet, or a moment to heat up a meal and recharge,” the church wrote in a Facebook post.
Others commented on the post that first responders were very appreciative of the space offered by Biltmore Church as well as other churches in western North Carolina.
Wallace Memorial Baptist Church in Knoxville, Tennessee, opened a similar room several years ago and has seen it serve as a blessing to the community’s first responders.
