First person: Hoping for a brighter, calmer year ahead? Let us join the journey

A new year brings a fresh start and the opportunity to reboot personally, professionally and within your church and community.

What are some of the items you plan to leave behind as you step into 2026? What will you embrace and add to your life?

Jennifer Davis Rash, president and editor-in-chief

Looking forward

How does your relationship with the Lord look currently and how would you like it to look this time next year?

What does shining His light, sharing His promises and discipling as you go mean for you as an individual this coming year? How can we help you open up more into your walk with Christ?

Ministry leaders across the nation have shared with our team how consistent engagement with the publication you are holding in your hand right now — The Baptist Paper, and any of its counterparts produced by TAB Media Group — enhances the lives of believers.

It might be through reading the print edition or the digital version emailed to inboxes. Maybe it’s by following the various topics covered online and featured on youtube.com/tabmediagroup or groundlevelreports.com.

No matter what platform is preferred, the important thing is to engage in some form.

Staying connected

We truly understand how overwhelming it can be to try to keep up with all the information available — and how hard it is to know who to trust with the information provided.

As we move into 2026, here are a few ways we hope to help you stay connected and aware of what’s available to you:

  • Email newsletters with four or five of the latest stories and resources of interest. These hit your inboxes mid-day Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
  • Topical email newsletters focused on specific areas of ministry service.
  • Video news and feature coverage online through YouTube, Ground Level Reports and across our social media channels.

All of these items are free and enhance your paid subscription to The Baptist Paper and your specific state’s partner publication.

To sign up, email subscribe@thebaptistpaper.org and let Sarah know what you are interested in receiving.

Happy New Year, friend! Let’s shine even brighter in the months ahead.

First person: Are churches facing a ‘demographic winter’?

The aging faithful within our congregations are a blessing and an essential resource that is too often overlooked. However, it is also true that within a few decades, much of this cohort will have entered eternity. If Ryan Burge’s chart is correct, there will not be enough GenXers, Millennials and Zoomers to sustain many of these denominations.
