Four Christians were slain and 22 girls were abducted by Islamic extremists who attacked Borno State’s Chibok area in Nigeria twice in six days, Morning Star News reported.
On Jan. 14, Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists killed three Christians in Kautikari and kidnapped five girls, Morning Star stated.
Then, on Jan. 20, ISWAP attacked Pemi village, killing one Christian and kidnapping 17 girls, the report said.
ISWAP militants also killed 12 Christians leaving a church service Dec. 19, 2021, in the predominately Christian village of Kilangal, the report said.
A faction of the Boko Haram terrorist group changed its name to ISWAP after aligning itself with the Islamic State group in 2016. In April 2014, Boko Haram abducted more than 276 girls from a Chibok Christian high school. About 100 of the girls are still captive, Morning Star reported.
Nigeria, which is No. 7 on Open Doors’ 2022 World Watch List of places most difficult to be a Christian, led the world last year in the number of Christians killed for their faith, the report said.
