SBC 2022: June 12 Recap

Every year, a variety of groups and organizations gather the Sunday and Monday prior to the Southern Baptist Convention annual meeting. Here are the highlights:

Tony Evans spoke to a packed house at Friendship Baptist Church in Yorba Linda for the June 12 session of the National African American Fellowship annual meeting.
For this year’s WMU missions celebration and annual meeting, participants took part in a hop on, hop off bus tour of local missions sites. The Dellanna West O’Brien Award was given to Libo Krieg, Hispanic trainer for WMU of Texas.
The Southern Baptist Conference of Associational Leaders heard from Lifeway Christian Resources president and CEO Ben Mandrell and Gateway Seminary President Jeff Iorg.
The first session of the SBC Pastors’ Conference was June 12. Speakers included Vance Pitman, Omar Johnson, Hanley Liu and Mark Clifton. To listen to the sermons, download the SBC Annual Meeting app and click “watch live.”
Nearly 1,200 gathered for an event sponsored by the Conservative Baptist Network to hear from Voddie Baucham and John MacArthur as well as some of the candidates for SBC officers.
