In a unanimous vote on Monday (April 15), Gateway Seminary trustees elected Adam Groza as the seminary’s eighth president during their spring 2024 meeting. His term begins May 13.
“Evangelism is a conversation between two people who are nervous,” acknowledged pastor and former seminary professor Matt Queen to a room of quiet laughter. Queen recently spent an hour helping a roomful of Baptists explore the topic.
“Southwestern Seminary is in a very different place than in September 2022,” said David Dockery, noting many factors. “All this has happened because of God’s providential kindness to us.”
Trustees on the presidential search committee have nominated Adam Groza, vice president for enrollment and student services, as the candidate to serve as Gateway Seminary’s next president.
Adam Greenway, who stepped down as president of Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in September 2022, filed a personal injury lawsuit against the seminary and the past chair of its trustee board.
