The Louisiana Baptist Foundation board of trustees has announced Jared G. Price as the 10th executive director of the Louisiana Baptist Convention entity.
The audio files from the Great Commission Resurgence Task Force’s 10 months of work in 2009 and 2010 were sealed for 15 years, the agreed-upon time by the group. The collection is housed in the Southern Baptist Historical Library and Archives and consists of 57 compact discs and very few paper documents.
Messengers voted 3,421 to 2,191—60.74 percent to 38.90 percent—in favor of a motion to “clarify” only churches with male pastors are considered in “friendly cooperation” with the SBC.
Southern Baptist messengers to the 2025 Annual Meeting rejected an amendment Wednesday that would have required the Southern Baptist Convention to publish detailed financial information like IRS Form 990 disclosures.
The panel discussion on “Safeguarding the Next Generation” featured Olivia Littleton, Jeff Dalrymple, Lynne Little, Matt Espenshade and moderator Courtney Reissig.
“Throughout this convention, we are erecting memorial stones of 100 years of cooperation demonstrated through the Cooperative Program,” said Jeff Iorg, president of the SBC Executive Committee.
While 11 of the motions made during the morning session were referred to appropriate entities for further consideration and to report back to messengers next year, two will be debated and voted on by this year’s messengers tomorrow, June 11.
This year’s WMU celebration at the Omni Dallas Hotel June 8 featured the theme “Let the Nations Be Glad,” based on Psalm 67:4: “May the nations be glad and sing for joy, for you rule the people with equity and guide the nations of the earth.”
