Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary President Jason Allen said the institution continues to grow in enrollment, facilities and initiatives to help students financially and academically.
Speaking in Indianapolis during the June 12 afternoon session of the 2024 Southern Baptist Convention Annual Meeting, Allen said the seminary has experienced 12 consecutive years of enrollment growth and now has students from all 50 states and 64 countries.

‘Reaching the world’
Midwestern students are “reaching the world, whether in Mississippi or Morocco, in North Carolina or North Korea,” Allen said. “Our students are in or from those countries, and they are making a gospel impact.”
Allen said Midwestern has completed $50 million worth of capital projects and is debt-free. The seminary has also launched initiatives like making the first year of tuition free for incoming residential master of divinity students and has expanded the Spurgeon Library with 12,000 new artifacts from the famed preacher’s collection.
The seminary’s undergraduate Spurgeon College is also growing, Allen said, with men and women enrolled in programs to prepare them “for both ministry and marketplace service.”
Midwestern Seminary “will continue to serve to the best of our ability with doctrinal clarity and conviction and with mission focus on the Church,” Allen said. “Pray that God will use this institution to raise up again and again a new generation of ministers to serve your churches and to fill your missionary slots.”
