Josue Valerio emphasized the importance of training being contextualized to Hispanic culture. “It’s more than just speaking the language or having a translator,” he said.
“I think we did what we were supposed to do, nothing spectacular, but what I think Jesus would have done. I have spoken to pastors and told them ministry is dirty. If you’re doing it right, it’s dirty,” said the church pastor.
“Here’s the hope that we have…our God is faithful, and he is good, even when life is not,” Steven Curtis Chapman said.
“It drives my passion to see how my life was transformed by this ministry and wanting to see that happen in other students. I love to see how God is working around the world.”
Go Now Missions, a ministry of Baptist General Convention of Texas that mobilizes university students to share the love of Christ around the world, has appointed 100 student missionaries to serve and share the gospel during Christmas break.
“When I learned about PAVE, I decided to go learn more. I refused to pull the plug on [Saint Luke],” said one San Antonio pastor. “It was like CPR to revive us. The program, for me, has been a godsend.”
“We had more children’s ministry workers than we have ever had. We tripled the number from 2021 to 2022 and then tripled again this year,” said Cory Liebrum, youth and family ministry specialist at BGCT.
“Ministry on Baylor’s campus is growing. It’s growing through the BSM and through the unity of the local churches,” Will Bowden, director of Baylor University’s Baptist Student Ministry, said.
Julio Guarneri, lead pastor of Calvary Baptist Church in McAllen, was elected to serve as the next executive director of the Baptist General Convention of Texas on Tuesday (Sept. 19).
“It was buzzing, it was loud, and the students were responding really well to the worship and the message,” Dunn said.
