International Mission Board trustees approved the appointment of 72 full-time, fully funded missionaries during their Sept. 27-28 meeting near Richmond, Virginia.
Peter and Tina Kim know that Asians in the growing city of São Paulo, Brazil, are in a unique position. As second, third and fourth generation immigrants, many Asians in São Paulo never quite fit into the culture of those around them.
During Hispanic Heritage Month, the IMB is highlighting the contribution of Hispanics to global missions and celebrating the growing number of Hispanic churches committed to reaching the nations.
“We grieve the thousands of people who entered eternity after a devastating 6.8-magnitude earthquake, Sept. 8, in Morocco. As we face this lostness and devastation, we won’t be silent,” the International Mission Board urged.
Through telemedicine strategies employed by the International Mission Board, missionaries around the globe are able to provide a reinvented mobile medical clinic.
The lanky teenager stood off to the side watching a group of strangers move from house to house among his community in Togo. He studied them handing out a tiny pamphlet, chatting with people and then bowing their heads.
“It’s a Sunday set aside to celebrate the accomplishments and contributions of Hispanic International Mission Board missionaries and Hispanic churches as active partners with the IMB,” the IMB noted.
