Bible sales reportedly surged to record levels in 2025 in both the United States and the United Kingdom. Some consider this development a reflection of renewed interest in spiritual matters. According to Circana BookScan and various news reports, U.S. sales reached a 21-year high with 19 million units sold — and this is up 12% from 2024 and double 2019 numbers.
Searching for hope
The U.K. saw its highest-ever sales, rising more than 100% since 2019, led by the ESV Bible, both the Christian Post and The Guardian reported. Publishers and booksellers reportedly attributed growth, especially among younger generations, to searches for hope and meaning, Publishers Weekly reported.
