As a pastor as well as a law enforcement officer, Randle Record has seen the plague of pornography and screen-time addiction impacting people of all backgrounds — from those in the church to criminals. That awareness of this serious societal issue has been a guiding force in his focus on shepherding families through “thought life issues” for three decades.
Record, who has pastored 40 years, including 10 years in Phoenix, Arizona, has a strong Kentucky Baptist connection. He is currently interim pastor of Hurricane Baptist Church in Trigg County. Previously, he was youth pastor at Lone Oak First Baptist Church, on staff at Highview Baptist in Louisville, worked with the Kentucky Baptist Convention in student ministry as well as working with the North American Mission Board.
Biblical solutions
His latest endeavor to address the scourge of pornography and screen addition is a book, “Fix Your Eyes, Fix Your Church,” which brings pastoring and leading in a screen-dominated world into sharper theological and biological focus. The book is “a field guide for those who recognize the need to logically and effectively apply biblical solutions to the issues of pornography and screen-time addiction plaguing the world, including the church.”
