In one of several interviews with state Baptist publication editors, Jeff Iorg of the SBC Executive Committee chats with Jennifer Davis Rash about a few of the current situations happening in the business side of SBC life.
“I would say, it’s not so much on the back burner as it is we want to teach churches how to access databases that already exist … ” said Jeff Iorg, president and CEO of the Southern Baptist Convention Executive Committee.
“I believe what happened during Encounter Week was proof the students of this campus are craving the presence of God, so that when given the opportunity to seek him, they found him right where they were,” Armstrong said.
Jeff Iorg: My vision is that Southern Baptists would come together and spend 95% of their time talking about how to get the gospel to people in the world who’ve never even heard the name of Jesus.

The U.S. Department of Justice informed Southern Baptist Convention attorneys Wednesday (March 12) that its investigation into the SBC and its entities is closed.
The average Southern Baptist church calls the South home, but the only region of the country where those congregations are growing is the Northeast.
“You can’t start with your idea and then find a list of different Scriptures to support it. You always start with Scripture.”
“I wanted to see how God could use me in a third-world country,” Johari shared. “I wanted to get out of my comfort zone and use my language skills to share the gospel.”
During the week, in addition to the professions of faith, there were 109 decisions to recommit lives to focus on Christ, other decisions made, and prayers lifted to the Lord.
