ETBU’s prayer tent ministry began in 2019, though the idea of prayer tents on college campuses has existed for years. ETBU’s prayer tent exists to encourage the students of ETBU to depend upon the Lord in prayer, organizers noted.
Barry Sproles was in his car, about to leave the Florida State University campus Thursday (April 17) when he saw what looked like something out of a movie. But he knew it was real.
Braving stormy conditions, more than 500 women from across Tennessee converged at Dickson First Baptist Church on April 4-5 for the annual Tennessee Woman’s Missionary Union (WMU) Get-Together.
“One of the catch phrases is ‘authenticity is the currency of this generation,’” said PJ Dunn, a discipleship consultant for the Georgia Baptist Mission Board.
“He said he’d be back, so I looked for him and, true to his word, they’ve been here,” said local resident Mack Thomason, 77, of a Baptists on Mission volunteer who said he could help.
A shooting Thursday (April 17) on the Florida State University campus has injured an unknown number of people, with the extent of injuries unknown at this time.
“This conference is specifically designed for those who feel called to lead the Church through worship in various capacities,” said Jay Barbier, one of the organizers of the event.
“Shane left town around the first of February,” Chris Holloway, senior pastor with Little Pass Baptist Church, Charenton, Louisiana, wrote. “My last conversation with him was on Jan. 28, 2025.”
