China Aid and other groups decry as “inadequate and misleading” China’s response to allegations that its government is harvesting organs from Christians and other religious or ethnic minorities.
The groups China Aid, International Coalition to End Transplant Abuse in China and Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation question the truth of China’s responses to the United Nations Special Rapporteurs’ inquiry into allegations of human organ harvesting, according to a China Aid report.
China claims the individuals interviewed sought to slander China. The government further responded that medical exams conducted on prisoners are standard health measures.
However, China Aid said some exams and tests on prisoners are consistent with assessing organ function prior to removal.
In March 2020, the China Tribunal declared China “a criminal state guilty of crimes against humanity against Falun Gong practitioners and Uyghurs,” noted China Aid.
Christians, Tibetans, Muslims and other minorities also are reportedly targeted for forced organ donations, China Aid stated.
China is No. 17 on Open Doors’ 2021 World Watch List of places most difficult to be a Christian.
