Muslim extremists in Uganda are suspected of setting a church fire that resulted in the deaths of two Christians.
Morning Star News reported the two elderly people were the only ones unable to escape the May 5 fire at Holy Healing Ministry International Church in Jinja, which is located along Lake Victoria.

Elsewhere, in Mbale on April 28 hardline Muslims intercepted a church leader, cutting him with knives as he left an evangelistic event.
Amon Sadiiki was hospitalized for his injuries. When ambushed he had just completed four days of debates with Muslims in Mbale during an open-air evangelistic event. Eleven Muslims accepted Christ as Savior on the fourth day, Morning Star News reported.
On May 3 Muslim extremists attacked Sadiiki’s son, Frank Amon.
Approximately 12% of Uganda’s population is Muslim.
Uganda’s constitution and laws allow for freedom of religion, including converting from one faith to another. However, Christian churches increasingly have received threats of violence, and some converts have been attacked, killed or excommunicated by Muslim family members, the World Atlas reported.
