Church of fully bivocational staff goes from 60 to 900 members in just 12 years

What do you get when a pharmaceutical rep, an assistant superintendent of education, and a banker walk into a church?

For Green Valley Baptist Church in Pontotoc, Mississippi, it’s a 13 member staff of entirely bivocational ministers with no formal training or education. Every staff member, except for pastor Brian Sansing, started as a layman who sensed God’s call to pour into a ministry at Green Valley. Then that work turned into a staff position.

Twelve years ago, the former church plant had around 60 members. Today, Green Valley averages around 900 people per worship service. The secret? It’s no program or empty promise that draws people in; it’s only by the grace of God.
