The battle involving transgender treatments continues to deliver new twists and turns. The Colorado Supreme Court ruled 5-2 earlier this week that Children’s Hospital Colorado must resume puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones for minors who identify as transgender while a lawsuit continues.

In January, the hospital reportedly put the breaks on treatments after an investigation was reportedly launched by the federal Department of Health and Human Services, according to reports. Parents of four transgender-identifying minors sued.
The parents reportedly argued the policy violated Colorado antidiscrimination law. The contended similar treatments remained available for other medical conditions. The children, according to the court, faced harm without treatment, and this trumped potential federal risks to the hospital. Meanwhile, the hospital noted continued efforts to review the decision while the broader case is evaluated by lower courts.
