It’s not too late for those who are planning to be in the Indianapolis area for the Southern Baptist Convention Annual Meeting to serve during Crossover.
The annual evangelistic effort has numerous projects needing volunteers, said Roger Kinion, local Crossover coordinator.
Right now, Crossover is offering at least 40 projects in the metro area and outside the city limits.
“It’s never too late to get involved in Crossover,” noted Kinion, who is pastor of Calvary Baptist Church in Greenfield, Indiana.
“We want to encourage people to [sign up] through the NAMB website for registration.
‘Needing extra hands’
“But even at the last minute, [if someone realizes] they’ve got a few extra days or few extra hours,” he noted, “they’re welcome to reach out to myself, to the NAMB staff, and we will do our best to get them plugged in.”
In a state where there is a smaller number of churches than other host cities, Kinion noted the need for an event like Crossover.
“We don’t have as many projects, but we do have great enthusiasm and can use it in this area as we are underserved with evangelical churches and opportunities to connect lostness to the gospel,” said Kinion, who shared the need for prayer.
“Having the extra hands to help churches that are smaller,” he noted, “makes it possible for them to do some of the things they’d love to do every year and don’t have the ability.”
