When the pastor asked our team to add “find the hidden objects” to The Kids Edition, I knew we had connected across the generations.
For many of us, the eight-page monthly newspaper reminds us of our youth experiences with Highlights magazine or The Weekly Reader. For other adults, it can be a calming activity at the end of a long day.
And we hope for the children and preteens in our lives, they find the newspaper filled with engaging stories, activities and lots of fun.
The Kids Edition features faith-centered content that supports faith-based curriculum for children’s ministry, Sunday School, outreach efforts and more.

Parents and grandparents are subscribing to offer an enjoyable, values-centered publication to pull their kids and grandkids away from screens for a bit to work the puzzles, color the pages and explore the craft or cooking activity.
In a world full of screens, this newspaper offers something special — a chance for kids to slow down, engage with real pages, and build a lifelong love of reading and reflection. It’s fun, colorful and faith-filled — a wholesome break from digital noise.
It also offers a family-friendly gateway into discussions related to Christian values and principles.
Churches and home school organizations are using the newspaper in a variety of ways — a supplement to their curriculum, an extra item at the end of class, a gift for guests, a quiet activity for antsy children to work on during the church service and so much more.
Add your brand
At the bottom left on the cover, we’ve included a section for a stamp or label so the sponsoring church or organization can brand it for those receiving the newspaper from them.
Oh, and one of the most referenced sections of The Kids Edition is the jokes column. It’s not only noticed by the children and youth. We are finding many adults flipping to that page as soon as they see the next edition of the paper.
TAB Media Group launched The Kids Edition in October 2025 and packaged it inside The Baptist Paper to help promote it and share it more broadly as we settled in on the best pricing and distribution structure for the new publication.
As The Kids Edition continues to grow in popularity, we recently realized it is now close to surpassing The Baptist Paper in subscriber engagement.
That means it is able to stand on its own, and we have officially shifted The Kids Edition to a separate subscription, both for individuals and in bulk.
Be sure to think about the kids in your life and set them up with individual subscriptions, which are mailed directly to their homes and include the kids’ names on the label.
Individual subscriptions are $34.95 annually. Each month’s edition arrives around the first few days of the month.
Also, think about outreach. Could your church give copies to foster families, resource centers, pediatrician offices or day cares in your community — labeled as a gift from your church or with an invitation card tucked inside?
Subscribing, submitting
For 50 cents per paper, you can have a shipment appear on your doorstep each month. We offer annual subscriptions as well as one-time orders.
To set up a subscription — individual or bulk — only takes a few minutes. Find the information at thebaptistpaper.org/kids-edition.
The same link can be used to submit a photo and information about a child in your life who could be considered as a featured reader and might appear in one of The Kids Edition newspapers.
Thank you to The Kids Edition team of Carrie Brown McWhorter, Lauren Grim, Julie Donavan and Joe McKeever for all the heart and hard work put into each edition. We are excited to be nearing our first anniversary and appreciate your support as we continue to grow this special ministry resource.
