Coastal Family Church purchased a unit in the Flagler Square strip mall in July 2025, but the mall’s condominium association sued. They reportedly claimed church services violated covenants prohibiting public assemblies and would stir up parking issues, Decision reported. Although the city reportedly approved a zoning exception, according to reports, a Seventh Judicial Circuit Court judge issued a temporary injunction halting services.
Liberty Counsel appealed their case to the Fifth District Court of Appeal. They contended the restriction is not fairly enforced. They also added that it violates Florida law and First Amendment protections, reported Christian Post and CBN.
