The world continues to watch the Surfside community of South Florida, prayerfully.
Dozens died when the 12-story Champlain Towers South building in Miami-Dade County collapsed in the middle of the night June 24.
Emergency responders working around the clock since the collapse had to pause search and rescue efforts on July 1.
The death toll was at 18 with 145 people still unaccounted for at press time, but three devices monitoring structural cracks alerted the officials to problems with the structure. One column had shifted six to 12 inches.
Florida Baptist Disaster Relief also responded with chaplains and laundry teams to help first responders and those affected by the collapse.
