Former Truett-McConnell president Emir Caner files lawsuit against Georgia school

Former Truett-McConnell University President Emir Caner has filed a breach-of-contract lawsuit against the Baptist school. He’s claiming trustees wrongfully terminated him in 2025, and he is seeking lost wages, income he’d made for speaking opportunities, attorney fees and other related damages, Baptist News Global reported.

Caner contends trustees lacked credible reasoning to dismiss him, and he noted his 10-year contract — which was extended through 2031 — allowed for removal only for cause.

Trustees reportedly fired Caner following an investigation into how he handled sexual misconduct allegations involving a former vice president, according to reports. Caner maintains he had no prior knowledge of Bradley Reynolds’ alleged misconduct, and argues he handled the situation appropriately. The university has reportedly not yet responded in court.

Shaped by grace: Developing godly character for young men

Something has gone wrong with the picture of manhood in our culture. On one side, there is a  version of masculinity that measures a man by his toughness, his conquests and his refusal to show weakness. On the other hand, there is an apologetic passivity that has little to offer a young man searching for a worthy vision of what he ought to become.
