Guidepost Solutions submitted its official report to the Southern Baptist Convention’s Sexual Abuse Task Force today, meeting the May 15 deadline.
The report is part of Guidepost’s independent investigation into accusations that the SBC Executive Committee mishandled sexual abuse claims. The task force now has seven days to do its review and prepare recommendations for messengers before the full report is released to the public leading up to the SBC Annual Meeting in Anaheim, June 14–15.
“Next week the task force will be meeting to process the report and prepare recommendations to be presented to the SBC in Anaheim,” explained task force co-chair Marshall Blalock, pastor of FBC Charleston, South Carolina. “These will be released for publication along with the full, un-redacted and unedited Guidepost report after noon on May 22.”
