Indiana church sees new life after dwindling to single digits

Pastor Brian Bailey of New Hope Baptist Church in Newtonville, Indiana, shared how he witnessed a remarkable revival in his church and community.

Facing challenges at the beginning of 2023, with dwindling attendance and no pastor, the congregation prayed fervently. Pastor Brian stepped in as pulpit supply for six months, and the church, once struggling, “came alive.”

He introduced Bible study, and the congregation, now passionate about sharing their faith, saw many professions of faith. In a significant turn, the church, dormant for more than seven years, experienced its first baptisms in 2023, with 19 individuals baptized under Pastor Bailey’s guidance.

Seeking newfound zeal

Seeking to sustain the newfound zeal, Bailey collaborated with the State Convention of Baptists in Indiana, arranging a three-day evangelism seminar led by seasoned pastor, Mike Cramer.

The event drew over 100 attendees, resulting in 12 decisions for Christ.
