With the Nov. 12 trial date nearing, 300 documents have moved through the court system related to Johnny Hunt’s lawsuit against the SBC, Executive Committee and Guidepost Solutions.
The latest of which was filed yesterday (Sept. 23) and requests an opportunity to “reopen discovery” in the suit or for the “late-disclosed witnesses” identified by the EC to be prohibited to testify.
New witnesses
The new witnesses are: Kevin Ezell, president of the North American Mission Board; Jeremy Morton, pastor of First Baptist Church Woodstock, Georgia, where Hunt previously served as pastor; and Ed Litton, an Alabama Baptist pastor and former SBC president.
This latest development follows reports that mediation attempts last week (Sept. 19) did not result in a settlement.
More details will be provided in future news reports.
