Lifeway is built on the foundation of the God’s Word, new president says during report in Orlando

In his first report to SBC messengers as president and CEO of Lifeway, Ryan Blackwell said the organization is more committed than ever to providing resources for the local church that are grounded in Scripture.

“Southern Baptists do not need less of the Word of God or less dependence on the Spirit of God, we need more, and that is the foundation that Lifeway must continue to be built on,” Blackwell said.

He emphasized that Lifeway exists to serve the local church — “pastors, missionaries, kids leaders, small group leaders and ordinary men and women as they fulfill the Great Commission … [and] make disciples who make disciples for the glory of God and for His name’s sake.”

Joe Walker, Lifeway executive vice president and COO, who served the past year as interim president, highlighted Lifeway curriculum offerings and a new free resource for churches, Disciples Path.

In response to a question from Will Spivey, messenger and next gen pastor at First Baptist Church Opelika in Alabama, regarding materials for bivocational pastors, Walker encouraged they reach out to share their needs and discuss how Lifeway can continue to provide helpful resources.
