Also approved were two changes to the SBC constitution to expand the definition of a cooperating church regarding sexual abuse and racial discrimination and related to the timing of officer elections during the meeting.
It also adds that “no person may simultaneously be a candidate for two offices.”
A $190 million Cooperative Program Allocation budget and $8.6 million EC and SBC operating budget were given the go-ahead by messengers. The CP budget is an increase of $9.625 million over the 2020–2021 budget but $3.125 million less than the 2019–2020 budget.
Messengers also approved an amended and updated missions and ministry statement for the EC.
