The 15 motions introduced within the first hour of the opening gavel of the 2023 SBC Annual Meeting in New Orleans may be an indication of how serious the current 11,980 messengers are taking this year’s business sessions.
Topics addressed include beefing up financial accountability for the SBC entities and Executive Committee, adjusting policies and procedures for entity trustees and requesting messengers pull declined resolutions back out to the floor for a vote.
The content of the motions is much more complete and in proper order than years past. Many include the specific bylaw connected to the point of the motion, and more messengers researched and prepared ahead of time.
A second opportunity to introduce motions will take place at 4:30 (CDT) this afternoon. To learn about the motions process, click here.
