Midwestern, Southern seminaries among those with consistent growth

Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Kansas City, Missouri, and Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky, were among seven accredited seminaries recognized for having demonstrated consecutive enrollment growth over the past five years.

The “What Makes Seminaries Grow?” report was published by the In Trust Center for Theological Schools in its Summer 2021 magazine and utilizes annual data distributed by the seminary’s accreditor, the Association of Theological Schools.

The other five seminaries were in Lisle, Illinois; Cary, North Carolina; Sioux Falls, South Dakota; and Dubuque, Iowa.

“That only seven institutions out of over 300 have demonstrated consistent increases over that time period says something of the climate of theological education in North America … we are thrilled to be among them,” said Midwestern Seminary President Jason Allen. (mbts.edu)
