Ministry wives from 48 Kentucky Baptist churches gathered at Radiant this past weekend, a retreat designed for their encouragement and edification.
“The Radiant Ministry Wives’ Retreat is an opportunity for our Kentucky Baptist women to connect with one another while being refreshed and encouraged for continued ministry,” said Sara Robinson, who serves as the women’s ministry and transition consultant at the Kentucky Baptist Convention.
“There’s no job description for a ministry wife, so women are often left to navigate their role and responsibility without any biblical mandate or direction. Connection with other ministry wives provides friendship and mutual encouragement as ladies help one another navigate roles and responsibilities.”

“I look forward to it every year,” said Emily Carter, a pastor’s wife from Paintsville who has attended Radiant for several years and served this year on the event’s leadership team. “It’s just always so…bittersweet when it’s over because you just want more and more.”
Guest speaker Jamy Fisher, wife of Todd Fisher, executive director-treasurer of Oklahoma Baptists, explored Psalm 73 with attendees, considering the nearness of God in disappointment, at life’s crossroads and throughout sanctification.
