The 2023 Youth Evangelism Celebration in Alexandria saw hundreds of Louisiana Baptist students make life-changing decisions for Christ. Organized by dedicated volunteers, the event drew more than 5,100 teens — reportedly becoming the largest annual gathering of Louisiana Baptists.
YEC aimed to inspire youth to share their stories of Christ’s transformative power, featuring messages by Daryl Jones.
Urging students to be lights in a dark world, Jones emphasized their strategic role in reaching others for Christ during the Nov. 19–20 event.
Counselor Clint Davis advised the youth to align with Christ’s desires over worldly pleasures, addressing issues like social media usage and sexual immorality.
Overcoming disruptions
Despite weather interruptions, several hundred students made decisions for Christ, with 157 accepting Christ during the opening session.
YEC concluded with worship, entertainment, and a challenge for students to share their faith using the Three Circles Gospel conversation tool. This impactful event exemplified the power of community and faith in guiding the next generation.
