Yes, there’s a record for that. Comedian Nate Bargatze has set a Guinness World Records mark — for, wait for it, the most tickets sold on a stand-up comedy tour.
Surprise: clean comedy is apparently popular and will attract crowds — and also help sell books. Bargatze’s book, “Big Dumb Eyes,” was No. 1 on the New York Times bestseller list after it released last year.
His “Big Dumb Eyes World Tour” sold 2,045,040 tickets across 129 venues from April 2025 through Aug. 16. This mark reportedly surpassed comedian Jeff Dunham’s previous record of 1,981,720 tickets.
Christian upbringing
Guinness recognized Bargatze, a Tennessee native, during a performance in Toronto. Known for his clean, family-friendly comedy, Bargatze has said in past interviews that his Christian upbringing and exposure to clean comedians influenced his popular style.
The comedian joked in an interview with SiriusXM, “I could only watch clean comics. … It was just being who I was — and who I was going to be in that kind of comedy is the comedy that I watched.”
This latest notable moment stacks onto to a career full of achievements — Grammy recognition, two “Saturday Night Live” hosting appearances and successful television and film projects.
