Today I’ve got Kristen Padilla with me. Kristen and I have very similar upbringings as daughters of Southern Baptist preachers and everything that goes along with it. So we’ve both seen ministry up close as spectators, and as adults we’re trying to serve the Lord as faithfully as we can. For Kristen, that meant going to seminary, which brought up a whole slew of questions and struggles as a woman with a calling from the Lord. And now, as the director of the Women in Ministry Initiative at Samford University’s Beeson Divinity School, she’s seen a lot of situations similar to her own.
Kristen is also the manager of marketing and communication at Beeson and the author of “Now That I’m Called: A Guide for Women Discerning a Call to Ministry” (find it here). She co-hosts the Beeson Divinity Podcast (listen here), which features lectures and interviews with Beeson faculty and spiritual leaders.
