Preparing for the discussions surrounding #SBC23

Church and associational leaders have an opportunity to learn from history as they gather for and return from the 2023 SBC Annual Meeting in New Orleans.

George Bullard spent 45 years in denominational ministry. He served on the staff of three associations, was a key staff person working with associations in two state conventions and served on the association missions division staff of the former Home Mission Board of the SBC. He retired in June 2022 as director of Columbia Metro Baptist Association in South Carolina.

He has led strategic planning processes in more than 100 associations and has written extensively in this area. Bullard now serves as a strategic thinking mentor for Christian leaders through his ForthTelling Innovation ministry. He also was one of the 45,519 messengers present at the historic SBC Annual Meeting in Dallas in 1985.

In this TAB Media Special Report, Bullard shares with host Jennifer Rash practical ways pastors and associational leaders can prepare for the important dialogue needed following the 2023 meeting. To read more from Bullard on this topic, click here.

What happened: India’s recently tabled amendment to its FCRA laws governing foreign donations to charities marked the most pressing threat to Christian ministries — and other non-profits — in recent years.
