Media representatives from across the nation gathered to ask questions and hear from Pressley following the conclusion of the SBC Annual Meeting this evening (June 12). Pressley was elected president in a second runoff election.

“I’m thankful to be the president … and I love the SBC,” Pressley said, noting he has experience serving a wide range of church styles within the convention.

He shared his confidence in the current convention structures and mechanisms and hopes to use his influence as president to help “make sure as a convention of churches we are focused on what our mission is.”

Pressley will preside over the 2025 meeting in Dallas, which also will celebrate the 100th anniversaries of the Cooperative Program and the Baptist Faith & Message.
