A revival that started Wednesday (Feb. 8) on the campus of Asbury University in Wilmore, Kentucky, is still going, reminding many of a similar event that took place there more than 50 years ago.
After the university’s regular chapel service on Wednesday, a group of students stayed after and continued a time of prayer and repentance. Others began to join them, and the worship service has grown to include more Asbury students, students from other campuses and viewers from around the world watching via social media.
Though the social media aspect is new, revival isn’t for Asbury University. In 1970, a time of student testimonies during a chapel service led to a weeklong revival that lasted 168 hours.
