Josh Schmidt said he was moved to tears Wednesday night (Nov. 5) as he watched the Hope For Northern Kentucky youth rally unfold in powerful fashion.
“I just started crying as soon as it happened,” said Schmidt, pastor of Burlington Baptist and one of the event organizers. “All the hard work of all the Kentucky Baptist churches, not just Burlington or Erlanger or Hebron, but all of the churches in our (Northern Kentucky Baptist) association and across the state. It starts with the Cooperative Program giving. Without that, it isn’t possible. It continues with their prayers (of Kentucky Baptists) and you see so many churches represented here in that prayer.”
The event marked the culmination of months of collaboration among northern Kentucky churches. The stands on both sides of the Lloyd Memorial High School gymnasium were packed.
