With no end of the ongoing attacks in sight — at least for now — Russia launched its largest aerial assault on the country since the war began. Missiles struck Kyiv and multiple regions with more than 800 drones and 13 missiles, officials reported Sunday (Sept. 8), according to multiple news outlets.

Dead and injured
At least four people, including an infant, were killed, and dozens injured as residential buildings and the main government complex in Kyiv were struck, according to reports from the Associated Press and Reuters. Ukraine’s Air Force reported shooting down most of the drones, but strikes reportedly damaged 33 locations.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy urged allies to strengthen sanctions and boost air defenses, calling the attacks a “deliberate crime” prolonging the war, according to media reports.
