New strategy launched in Alabama seeks to be a “game changer” for churches, many of which are congregations that average less than 75 in worship and are seeking bivocational pastors.
W. Thomas Hammond, Jr., executive director of the Georgia Baptist Mission Board, and Kevin Ezell, president of the North American Mission Board, announced a new partnership Sunday night with the aim of planting more churches in Georgia.
On Nov. 10, New Vision Baptist Church in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, hosted a Sending Celebration that featured 49 newly appointed missionaries. The IMB event kicked off the Tennessee Baptist Convention’s annual meeting.
When the books closed on SBC’s 2023–24 fiscal year Sept. 30, the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering for North American Missions totaled $74.7 million, and the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering for International Missions totaled $206.8 million.
The International Mission Board and Woman’s Missionary Union invite all Southern Baptists to participate in the 2024 Week of Prayer and the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering. Resources are now available at lottiemoon.com.
With a few giving days left in the 2023–24 giving year, the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering is already the largest in the International Mission Board’s history, with receipts currently showing more than $204 million given to date.
