Baptist Disaster Relief volunteers have kept busy during the past week as a relentless wave of storms continues to pound the region with deadly floods and tornadoes from Texas to Ohio.
At least seven people are dead after tornados ripped through parts of the South and Midwest this week (April 2–4), and more life-threatening severe weather is expected through the weekend.
“I believe everyone who is a follower of Jesus is a fisher of men,” Fontenot said. “It’s one thing to know you ought to be sharing Jesus, but it’s another thing to do it. You can do this.”
While 2024 — like most years — was filled with tragedy, scandal, politics and ongoing tensions overseas, it also was a year where redemption and grace shined through a lot of the dark, discouraging moments.
“This is the body of Christ in action,” said Rupert Robbins, Texans on Mission disaster relief associate director. “Our connection to Christ connects us to fellow believers and God’s call to minister to the hurting.”
