There were four main themes during the North American Mission Board’s Send Luncheon on Monday, June 10, in Indianapolis as Southern Baptists blessed a family and provided support for adopting and fostering families.
A ballot vote for the next SBC president is scheduled to take place June 11 at 7:05 p.m. during the opening day of the 2024 SBC Annual Meeting in Indianapolis. The person elected will follow current SBC president Bart Barber.
The SBC Executive Committee board of trustees declined to recommend action stated in two motions referred from the 2023 SBC Annual Meeting, which would have required more detailed financial reporting by national-level, CP-funded entities.
The Abuse Reform Implementation Task Force has released its report with recommendations that it will share a report with messengers during the 2024 SBC Annual Meeting in Indianapolis (June 11–12).
The Resolutions Committee has released a list of “preliminary” drafts of this year’s proposed resolutions that will go before messengers during the Southern Baptist Convention Annual Meeting in Indianapolis.
“To truly understand and attack the problem of crippling decline looming large over the future of the SBC will require Southern Baptists to embrace two radical steps,” says Chuck Kelley, president emeritus of New Orleans Seminary.
As Southern Baptist messengers gather in Indianapolis for their annual meeting (June 11-12), they will have one more opportunity the night before to hear from the six candidates who are seeking to be elected as SBC president.
