Clarifying statement and letter from Send Relief leaders was released today following ARITF’s earlier announcement of a new independent nonprofit organization being formed to assist with abuse reform efforts in the SBC.

“I think we did what we were supposed to do, nothing spectacular, but what I think Jesus would have done. I have spoken to pastors and told them ministry is dirty. If you’re doing it right, it’s dirty,” said the church pastor.
Nearly 800 people recently gathered in Augusta for hands-on ministry that included renovating schools and churches, building a playground, providing free dental care, throwing block parties and more.
“It’s incredible what God allows us to be a part of when we join in His mission,” said IMB President Paul Chitwood. “And it’s only going to get batter as Southern Baptists work together on mission through Send Relief.
“In much of the country, city infrastructure has been destroyed. People have fled those cities. What global Christians can pursue now is building homes and churches in western Ukrainian cities…”
More than 100 people are confirmed dead and hundreds more are missing. Meanwhile Southern Baptist partners are providing food and ready to provide further assistance as needed.
