A Baptist was a big winner on a national TV game show last week — not just monetarily but by having a platform to speak about the importance of adoption and foster care.
Union University recently welcomed a delegation from Bowen University in Nigeria, marking the initiation of a potential partnership aimed at fostering collaboration between the two Baptist institutions.
“Once we began to minister outside of our own area, that’s where the growth really came from,” pastor Paul Huenefeld said.

SBC President Bart Barber challenged trustees to “look past those who tear down” and focus on cooperation.
The SBC Executive Committee announced Wednesday (Sept. 13) that it has cut five positions and two contractor positions, trimming the already lean staff down to 21 full-time positions.
“For me, basketball is only a platform that God has given me to pour into the lives of young people,” said Steve Edwards, women’s basketball coach at Brewton-Parker College.
In addition to vetting potential names and background information for the website, the task force noted they “worked to onboard new members, review ongoing initiatives and identify priorities for the year ahead.”
