Thanks to the creativity of a Mississippi layman and a gift from California Baptists, Texans on Mission provided an expanded service to Southeast Texas families affected by recent flooding.
Churchgoers are more interested than involved in prison ministry, but most say they’d be fine sharing a street or a pew with someone who has been incarcerated, a recent study shows.
The Virginia Baptist Historical Society held its annual meeting on May 14 at the historic Culpeper Baptist Church, celebrating the congregation’s 250th anniversary.
“I’ve been consistently surprised by the stories God is writing in the world,” Drew van Esselstyn said. “I’ve been humbly reminded time and again that God is the best storyteller.”
This ministry answers the question asked by aging parents who have disabled children or children with intellectual disabilities, “What will happen to our children when we can’t care for them anymore?”
