Steinhilber named 5th president of Luther Rice College and Seminary

Steven Steinhilber has been named the fifth president of Luther Rice Seminary.

“I am extremely humbled by this appointment and equally excited to continue the legacy of Luther Rice and these faithful leaders,” Steinhilber said. “Our adherence to the inspiration, inerrancy and authority of Scripture will never waiver as we look to provide more ways to serve the church and community by delivering a biblically based education for Christian men and women for ministry and the marketplace.”

Steinhilber will begin his new role on July 1.

Ministry background

An alumnus of Luther Rice College and Seminary, Steinhilber has served as executive vice president at the seminary for the past nine years.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Ohio Wesleyan University, a master’s degree in apologetics and the master of divinity from Luther Rice and a doctorate of ministry from Clamp Divinity School of Anderson University in South Carolina.

In addition to his work at Luther Rice, Steinhilber has served in a variety of ministerial positions including youth ministry, international missions and the pastorate.

Steinhilber and his wife, Crystal, have been married for 21 years. They have one married daughter who lives in the Atlanta area.

Steinhilber succeeds James Flanagan, who has served as president of Luther Rice for 27 years. Flanagan commended Steinhilber’s selection.

“I am grateful for the Board of Trustees’ decision to elect Dr. Steven Steinhilber as the fifth President of Luther Rice College and Seminary,” he said. “I will be praying for and encouraging Dr. Steinhilber and will continue to enthusiastically support the work and ministry of Luther Rice.”
